The guilt is working
That handsome fellow is a toe and three pattern repeats on the second sock. He’s even prettier than his predecessor, though due to the magic of self-striping yarn, they will at least be nearly identical twins. He is artistically posed upon my headboard, where he thinks he looks quite grand, and can admire the (admittedly not very exciting) view. However, we are having a lovely new england fall day, and the sky is in fact very clear and fine. The sock says that he is contemplating heavenly matters, which I think actually means just staring at the sky. But if the sock wants to be fancy, who am I to dissuade him?
Also, for anyone who’s interested, the pattern is Circles and Squares, (Ravelry link here.) and it’s being knit in Patons Grace in black, which is cotton, and Loops & Threads luxury sock in Ocean, which is a wool/cashmere/nylon blend. And as soon as I’m finished with this project, I am throwing out any yarn I have that has cotton in it. I hate the stuff. It hurts my hands to work with it, and with knitting being so time intensive, it is so not worth it to work with materials you don’t like.
